Yields: 1 250 mL Glass Jar

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Oils: In a clean double boiler, combine the beeswax, emulsifying wax, and avocado oil. Gently heat until melted, stirring occasionally.
  2. Heat the Hydrosol & Glycerin: In a separate pot, gently warm the rose hydrosol along with vegetable glycerin. Be careful not to overheat.
  3. Blend Together: Once the oils are melted and the hydrosol mixture is warm, remove both from heat. Slowly pour the warm hydrosol mixture into the oils, and blend immediately using a stick blender until smooth and creamy. Alternatively, whisk vigorously every 2-5 minutes until the mixture has cooled and emulsified. Re-emulsify if Necessary: If the mixture doesn't emulsify fully after cooling, gently re-melt it on low heat and blend again.
  4. Add Essential Oils & Preservative: Stir in the rose and cacao essential oils, followed by the tinosan preservative.
  5. Store & Label: Once the mask has cooled and emulsified, scrape it into a clean 250 mL jar. Cap and label your jar. Use within 2-3 months for optimal freshness.

To Use:

  1. Apply to Dry Hair: Scoop 3-4 tbsp of the mask and apply to dry hair, making sure to coat evenly.
  2. Soak for 30 Minutes: Allow the mask to soak into your hair for at least 30 minutes. For deeper nourishment, wrap your hair in a towel or shower cap.
  3. Rinse & Shampoo: Rinse the mask thoroughly from your hair, then shampoo and condition as usual.
